The Post-It Note Session
Do you often feel overwhelmed by the number of tasks you need to accomplish every week? Are you unsure which is the best thing to do first? Do you have so many great ideas bubbling around in your head that its hard to focus on just one? Then The Post-It Note Session is for you.
Designed to help creative founders, business owners and their teams to organise and prioritise their opportunities and must-dos, my Post-It Note Session is a guided process which helps to bring clarity, to prioritise tasks and make you feel lighter in your work.
The Process
Group and Size
We then group each thought / task according to its type or business area. We loosely size each item, breaking down any big tasks even further to make them more manageable.
Empty
Together, we empty your head of every single task, concern, opportunity, question, worry or plan you are thinking about for your business. Everything is captured on post-it notes.
Prioritise
Working to a tried-and-tested set of parameters, we prioritise tasks for the week, month or year ahead; allowing you to clearly see a road map of activity to move your business forward positively.
Results and Repeat
Whether we repeat the session weekly or yearly, by clearing your head and prioritising your actions in a structured way, you’ll reduce overwhelm and see positive results in your working life.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Absolutely. While taking part in the session in person can be helpful to have full visibility of all the tasks at once (they often fill a wall at first!), the session can also be run online. In-person sessions are available in South-West and Central London.
-
Some clients like running the session with me every week so that they have a set of clear priorities and actions to stick to. Other clients like revisiting the process once a season or once a year, to see if their plans are still on track. Whatever suits you and your budget, the sessions can be tweaked to be bespoke to you.
-
An initial or annual Post-It Note Session usually takes three hours to fully capture everything. Weekly sessions then take between 30-60 minutes to refresh new tasks and work out that week’s priorities. I have a flat hourly rate of £50 to make my pricing as simple as possible.
-
Not at all. I primarily work one-on-one with founders (or with small teams) in the creative sector, but the process would suit any indie business.
